I did it again! Friday, Sep 15 2006

Well, I just reenlisted again.  (And why am I still at work…I thought you get the whole rest of the day off after reenlisting???)  It is not as bad as it sounds.  I reenlisted for two years…which starts today.  This two year reenlistment gives me an additional year of stabilization at my current location that will begin when my current DEROS (20 March) hits.  I did it to keep from get put on orders and having to sign a DEC statement.  Lord knows, that I am sick of Finance!!!  Well, Trent finally has his answer…HE IS RETIRING!!!!!  We do not have a definite date but right now it looks like it will be 1 January.  I am such a golddigger, being 25 and married to a retiree!

Well, school is going ok.  Stats is horrible as can be expected.  I got a 86 on my last test.  (two As on the quizzes prior).  Trent keeps telling me to calm down about it.  I paid my down payment on the Dublin course.  That will start 14 Oct and last a week.  I am sure that it will be fun.  There are 10 people already registered and there needs to be 13 to run the class.  I think the numbers will come!!!!!  Well, besides all that news… the kitties are doing well.  Well…talk to you all soon!

Did we fall off the face of the Earth, you ask? Wednesday, Aug 23 2006

Nopers… Trent and I are still here.  We have just been chillin’.  I was trying to finish up my school work for the London class I took.  I have to say, I rather enjoyed the whole concept.  It opened me up to some new concepts that I never would have gave another glance to.  I also met some cool people.  Saturday was a cool day.  I made it to the Globe, but just a tad to late.  A bunch of us went to see the Producers and ohmigod( yeah jersey!) it was great!  It was my first show in London and I loved it.  It was hilarious.  If you have the chance to see, definetly do it.

Well, school has started again for me.  I started my dreaded Statistics class last night.  I just cannot put it off anymore.  September 4th marks the start of my British Literature class as well.  I am attempting to take another field study on Irish Literature and History in DUBLIN!!!  That will start 14 October.  I am so psyched about that.  Those field studies are absolutely awesome.

Trent is doing well.  Shamming as always.  Still awaiting word from the states.  More to come.

The kids, ie. cats, are healthy.  Buddy and Duke went to visit the vet yesterday.  Boy, was that expensive!  Smokey goes next month.

Trips to come: 2 September Wine Fest in Germany, 9 September Buckingham Palace, 17-20 September Oktoberfest (Trent only), 5-8 October hopefully Barcelona (celebrate year end closeout), 14-21 October Dublin (Sarah only for the time being), TBD March Madrid (Hemingway class), TBD March RUSSIAAAAA!!!  more to come!

Well, if you miss us, you know how to reach us!  Be cool!  :)

LONDON Tuesday, Aug 1 2006

Hi!   Sorry for the lack of updates, but a sista has been busy!  hehehe!  Well, right now I am spending some time in London.  I am taking a field study with my college, University of Maryland.  It is titled the Cultural History of London, but I think that was a mistake because my eccentric teacher decided that we are going to learn architure of London.  Hello!  this is a history course and I know nothing about architure!  Well, I got here Sunday and class started Sunday afternoon.  We have been going non-stop since.  Today we spent the morning at Kensington Palace, they have an excellent display on Diana’s clothes.  We spent the afternoon at the British museum and saw so much.  It is absolutely huge.  I did get to see the Rosetta Stone in person!  They had tons of stuff on Greece( I have been there!).

Well, I get back to Brussels Sunday night.  We are having dinner and mojitos at Pablo#s prior to coming back to Mons.  Well, ate at the One (Hard Rock last night) and tonight going to eat Indian (my first time).  I am spending a friggin fortune.  I cant stand it.  We have a total free day saturday prior to our final sunday.  gonna shop in the morning, visit the globe in the afternoon and take in a play.  Sound like a busy day.  More to come!  Miss everyone bunches!!  :)

The Korean Store Monday, Jul 3 2006

I had a lovely day off work.  Trent worked until 2:30.  I had class and then went on a journey with my buddy, Gina.  She took me to the Korean Store in Brussels.  Boy, that store was awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee!  I bought so much stuff.  They had fresh bulgogi (beef, chicken, and pork), spareribs, sushi, chemche, yaki-man-do, etc.  All the stuff I love.  We had some yummy sushi, the radishes and salmon were awesome.  Fought traffic on the way home and am now back at the house.  Did you know that when you a bored with eating regular chemche, you can make soup?  Cook the chemche in some mayo and then add water!  Guess what you got, chemche soup!  (I know I am so spelling chemche wrong!)

Watch Failure to Launch!  Even though SJP is my hero this movie still rocks!!!!

What to Do next?!!?!?! Sunday, Jul 2 2006

As for our time still in belgium, it is up in the air?  I did submit an AGR packet, a it on the early side, but we’ll see.  I am also maybe reclassing.  I have looked at 46R, Broadcast Journalist (can you imagine little ole’ me on TV).  I am going to AFN to work on my audition tape this week.  The tape is then sent to the states with an application and I wait to see if I get accepted.  As soon as I make a concrete decision about what we will do, it willbe here!!  (BTW- Trent is STILL in limbo!)

Yeah! Long Weekend! Sunday, Jul 2 2006

Well, so far it has been a pretty fun weekend, not including the 10 page paper I had to write Friday night!  It is only Sunday and I am not due to go back to work until Wednesday!  It has been a hellish week though.  We worked out of a different bldg, since we finally got our new carpet.  A three day job turned into a five day mess.  Just like contract workers to tear up a floor and not have any carpet in sight!

Yesterday a few of us went to Luxembourg on a Trips and Tours trip.  Pretty fun.  We first stopped at the Villeroy and Boch warehouse.  I have to say, I was pretty skeptical, but all turned out well.  Trent said we had to buy a tombola box for 35 euros.  We opened in when we got home and got a bunch of stuff, 12 coffee cups, 12 dinner plates, 12 dessert plates, a pretty tea cup, and a creamer.  Pretty good deal.  Next, we stopped at a store called Cactus.  We were told it was going to be like Walmart, but when we got there….it was a mall!  The stores were great and it was the start of summer sales. I absolutely fell in love with a store called habitat.  (Don’t know if they have them in the states?)

After our two hour shopping trip, we made our way into the city center.  The views were just breathtaking (check out my myspace page for pics!)  We had a great lunch but my wine hit me a tad fast!  (It was hot!)  We took a hop on hop off bus around.  Pretty fun.  We only had a few hours, but I am so ready to go back.  In some of our pics, you can see a valley behind us, well the valley is breath-taking!!  Well, we look forward to the 4th fest on post Tuesday.  Can’t stay out to late as I have my crim. psych final the next morning!  Look forward to heading to Brussels tonight with the girls (Gina and Deb).  We hope to eat some chinese and go see the Break-up at the movie theater.  Could be fun!

Freaks, Geeks, and just plain weirdos’! Sunday, Jun 25 2006

Just to start off, the cutoff scores did, in fact come out.  Anyone want to guess what my was???  How 'bout 798!!  I will never move up.  BTW- I submitted an AGR packet last week, hopefully that works out.  I am kinda ready to leave this crazy place.

Well, I have always said the craziest rejects are sent to Belgium (not to include any of my friends :) ).  Trent and I decided to hold an impromtu bbq last night.  We had to do it on the late side, starting at 5pm as I had to attend Garcia's baby shower.  Very cute affair and guess what, she is finally showing!  Well, we just invited a few neighbors.  John and Michelle and the Eichman's from Trent's work.  Everything was ok except for Chris and Siciliy's poor kids.  See, out house is really not the child-proof and I knew the kids must be hungry for dinner (since their dinner time is around 5).  The baby was tired but everything seemed to work out fine.  We were all having fun, especially once the food was ready to be eaten.  After we finished, the neighbor returned home.  The neighbors came over and started to talk. Trent, very innocently, asked them ow they meet.  She said one completely innocent story and he told a somewhat different tale.  We all laughed and made a few jokes.  Siciliy and I went inside to fix the awesome dessert she made, I heard some yelling, came out into the living room, saw the neighbors' dog running around my dining room, and tried to figure out what was up.  She came in picked up the dog while I asked her kindly not to let her dog into my house without my permission.  She didn't hear a word I said. She grabbed her husband and left cursing.  So everything calmed down, we ate dessert.  The Eichmans' left and everyone else sat down to play poker.  I was attempting to call Rusty and Tammy (hey guys, when I call you better answer the phone next time), and they come back again.  No!!!!!  She freaked out asking why Siciliy was so mean, I told her Siciliy was just kidding whatever.  Then she starts drinking beer like it is water and eat all out chips, went into my kitchen and asked for more food.  Her husband finally dragged her home.

I have to admit that was one of the craziest bbq's ever.  Can the old crowd come back?  This weekend is the Jurbise beer fest, we may go hit is up this afternoon.  More to come!!

Manic Monday Monday, Jun 19 2006

Trent wanted me to give a shout-out to all the fathers (including soon-to-be) out there.  You all rock! (now go cut the grass)

Can someone please tell me why the cut-off scores are still not out?  Well, this is a short post as I have a final tomorrow for my Hemingway class. (Plus two papers due this weekend for criminal psych!)  Smokey says MEOOOWWWWWW!

A Lazy Sunday (Happy Father’s Day) Sunday, Jun 18 2006

It's Sunday and I just woke up from my afternoon nap!  Trent is watching World Cup and the cats are chillin' by the fans.  We are mentally preparing for another week at work.  We did not do anything big this weekend.  We went to one of Trent's co-worker's house for a bbq yesterday.  Pretty fun.  Cool peeps.

I did some preliminary grad school hunting because USHU only accepts like two people a year in their clinical psych track.  There are a few schools I am going to look into, ie. NYU, Auburn, George Mason, UVA, Rutgers, etc.  (You know us Yankee chicks never like to be too far from the East Side for too long!)  Besides that we are just taking it easy.  I am working on papers for my Hemingway class and my Criminal Psych class.  After this, only 13 more classes until I am done!  It is so time to start with those GREs!

Well, we have to give Trent a shout-out for father's day!!  We're going to cook dinner tonight.  Mexican steak and shrimp fajitas!!  Yummy!  Gonna break open a bottle of Rioja and see how that goes.  Well, have fun!  :)

In the beginning there was…. Saturday, Jun 17 2006

Well, we stole this blog idea from another couple we know.  I thought it was a cool idea and an easy way to keep everyone updated on what is going on in our lives.  It is obvious that we are still in Belgium and have absolutely no idea when we are leaving or where we are going!  I am set to leave for good MARCH 21!!!!!  I cannot wait until then.  Well, I will try my best with this blog because I am totally computer illiterate.  More to come, Trent has to go in to grade a PT test (yes on a Saturday)!!!!
